Quite possibly the best and most attractive species in the cosmos. Humans are certainly the most prolific, having ventured outwards from their homeworld, Earth, to colonise countless worlds throughout the known universe. The species' empire-building has not endeared them to many of the peoples of space, but fortunately Humans are also very good at slavery.
Bipedal mammals descended from arboreal apes, Humans lack natural defences such as exoskeletons or chitinous plates. To make up for this, the species has made huge technological leaps (oftentimes by simply stealing huge technological leaps from other species, in the manner of a schoolchild copying over their classmate's shoulder), and now possess everything from personal shields and blazer guns to towering warships and space installations. Some of the greatest adventurers of the Cosmic Age have been Human: the rapscallion Purple Bertha and her band of cybernetic vagabonds; Ho-Hum Ben who defeated the Tricloptic Megasaur of the Tinpot Nebula; and even Captain Dashworth, Guardian of the Golombic Spar and inventor of a thousand amazing adventures. |
